The Willows - Bella

2013 ep

Bella - The Willows

the bright young folk review

The Willows’ three track EP Bella takes its name from Bella’s Fury, a track which, with its driving rhythm and powerful vocals, was a high point of their recent album Beneath Our Humble Soil.

Here it is coupled with two previously unrecorded tracks: a gentle arrangement of the traditional Irish ballad, Maid of Culmore, which often features in their live sets and an original song, Sailing Ship, which alternates quiet passages of close vocal harmony punctuated by lively instrumental passages featuring a soaring fiddle part.

Bella is a taster of more quality music to come from this talented ensemble.
