In a joint venue between the Shrewsbury Folk Festival and EFDSS, eight artists gathered together in Shropshire for a week in March 2011 to write works with ’resonance and relevance’ to Cecil Sharp, and particularly his Appalachian song-collecting travels of 1915-18.
Bright Young Folk caught up with Steve Knightley, Jackie Oates, Andy Cutting, Caroline Herring, Jim Moray, Patsy Reid, Leonard Podolak & Kathryn Roberts as they worked on the material at the song house.
