Ex-Bellowhead lead singer Jon Boden plays two very special performances for Bright Young Folk’s December Sessions.
First up is a driving rendition of Christmas Bells, which he wrote for Bellowhead’s 2013 Christmas single. Compiled from the texts of various Christmas Mummer Plays, here it is given a rare outing without the whole band.
Also featured is a sensitive rendition of The Mistletoe Bough which he learnt from the singing of Will Noble at the Royal Hotel in Dungworth. He normally plays this on concertina but here it is played on guitar.
